We're back

We returned on Tuesday from spending almost a week in Maryland visiting Clint's family. The girls had their first plane ride and loved seeing everyone. Emma has had swim lessons every morning since we have been back and I had to work both Wed and Thur night, so I am bit behind in things and very tired. Cecelia has 4 teeth now and cutting more, so she hasn't been the happiest baby on the block. Hopefully tonight I will find some time to post pictures. I am just now uploading them from the camera and our full suitcases are still sitting in the kitchen floor waiting to be unpacked....

She CRAWLED!!!!!

Whoa, talk about some excitement in the H house!!! Cecelia crawled for the first time just a few minutes ago. She was on the floor trying to get to me and I watched her scootch 3 times where she reached out and grabbed my pants leg!! She used her feet more than her knees, but she was up off the ground and she did it!!! Go Cece!! I can't believe she is getting so big...

A few changes

Same blog, new title. It makes me a little nervous that when our names are googled a window is opened into our very private life. But I know many extended family and friends check in on us so I didn't want to change to a private setting. I know our URL still has our name in it...

So think, Alan Jackson. I have always thought this song represents our life, and it is not just our height I am talking about. ;)

Swinging at the Park

More teeth!

Cece officially has 3 teeth now. The top one cut through two days ago and another will be here any minute. She is already grinding them. Ewww
She won't even let me feel them, so I doubt I can get a picture. :(
She has also learned a new way to get around. Most babies this age are learning to crawl (and she will get up on her knees) but Cece's preferred method is to lie on her back and push herself around with her heels.
She loves her Gerber puffs so much when she sees me get out the container she shakes all over with excitement. It is the funniest thing!! We still have to sneak baby food in her mouth. I think if she could feed herself she would love to eat solids.

Oh well....

Cecelia woke up twice last night to eat. It was nice while it lasted.

Sleeping through the night and Sippy Cups

For the past two nights, Cecelia has slept through the night. I don't know if we just wore her out or she is finally growing up a bit. Since she hit 3 months old she has awoke every 3-4 hours to eat and then usually will go right back to bed. (It was rough going from a sleeping through the night newborn to up every 3 hours- Darn teeth!) Well, Friday night, after a very long day, she went to bed around 11 and slept until 6:30! I woke up around 5 am and ran into her room to make sure she was still breathing. When I tiptoed in there she rolled over so I bolted. I was scared to say anything in fear of jinxing it. Well, she slept almost 6 hours straight last night. Then took a 2 hour nap until like 9:30! I haven't had this much sleep in like a year! We also had a very busy day yesterday so she was exhausted again. She got to play with her buddy Mack at a cook-out at my friend Sam's house. Poor Emma is also feeling some growing pains. She begged and begged to stay the night with her friend EmmaLee and even had it in her head that we said yes. But when it was time to go, Clint had to tell her she had to go home with us. Her disappointment broke my heart. I don't think Daddy is ready for her to be a big girl yet. :(
Today we got Cece a sippy cup to try. We put some water in it for her to have while she ate her sweet potatoes and cereal. She loved chewing on the cup, I don't know how much water she actually got from it though. We also gave her some banana Gerber puffs. They are baby snacks that melt in her mouth. Only a few made it in, but she had soggy ones all over herself. I t hink she is finally getting used to solid food. She is taking a nap right now in her swing, I wonder how she will sleep tonight?!

Happy 4th of July!

We celebrated the Fourth by going to Aunt Dot's like we do every year. The kids love it! Then we hung out at Nana's the rest of the night and watched an amateur fireworks show. It was pretty funny watching Papa run. :) Here are some pictures from the day.

Today was a stressful day. We went to the Y and then I tried to do some shopping. Emma wasn't listening and Cece was tired and wanting eat the whole time. When we got home I went to put her in her swing so she could sleep and she had a hold of my diaper bag. As soon I took it away from her she threw a fit. So this is how Cece napped this afternoon. (don't worry, I moved it after she was good and asleep)
