6 month Check-Up
Cecelia had her six month well-check this morning. She weighed 17 pounds 10 ounces and was 26 inches long. Both at the 75%. I guess her growth is slowing since she is getting more active, she has been in the 90th percentile until now. Her doctor informed us that she should be sleeping 12 hours at night. She suggested we increase her solids or maybe even try a bottle of formula at bedtime to get her through the night. Yes, Cece still wakes up every 3 hours to eat. But it doesn't bother me enough to give her formula! I love our doctor but her suggestions confused me today. I was given handouts on solids, sleeping and weaning?!! I am assuming the weaning was for night-time?? Anyway, she said her growth was great and she was happy with how alert she was and was right on developmentally. You should have seen Cece push and kick the doctor away when she was trying to look in her ears! She did great with her shots. Only cried for a second and was smiling when I picked her up. I am so blessed with such a sweet girl. Now if she would only sleep.....

Pool with Friends
Yesterday we got out of the house and went to the pool at the YMCA with some friends. Cece stayed in the sitter watch for the first time and did really well! I was called to get her after an hour and half because she got hungry, so I fed her and then we played in the pool for a bit. She loves it! She smiles and kicks her legs all around. The pictures are with my friend Sam's girls, Emmalee and Mackenzie. (Mack is a year older than Cece and Emmalee just turned 6)

My, how my baby has grown! Due to a nasty stomach virus invading the Hilley household (and the Norton's as well) we have no special 6 month photos of Cece yet. I hope to have them soon though! Some of our dearest friends, Carrie and Jonathan, have a brand new baby in their house. Hearing Carrie's tired voice on the phone asking when they finally sleep made me a bit nostalgic. It's funny what the brain does to make you forget the early days. They sure are sweet though. I hope you feel better soon, Carrie. (and the rest of my family!) I can't wait to meet miss Addie.

Growing up
It has been a busy week for us! My girls are getting so big! Emma is celebrating the end of the school year and soccer season and Cece tried some big girl food.
Last Sunday we gave Cece some organic baby rice cereal. I think she wanted to chew on the spoon more than eat the food. By the end we had to play dodge the baby hands or she would grab the spoon and make a huge mess. We were all excited and triumphant when she ate most of the bowl. However, an hour later I think everything in her stomach came out the other end. All the way up her back and front... then she puked twice that night. So, needless to say, we are going to hold off the solids for a bit. I don't know whether to try the rice cereal again or move on to canned veggies or mushed banana in a few weeks.

Saturday Emma had her end of the season soccer party. It was at a teammate's house with a pool and they had a blast!! I felt bad for the hosting family, because we were there 4 hours when we finally worked up the nerve to be the first people to leave. Everybody was enjoying themselves so much it didn't seem like they wanted to go home! It is pretty funny to see how much smaller Emma is than everyone else.
Yesterday was Emma's Family Fun day at PreK. The whole day was spent at different centers, such as relay races, story time, bounce house, etc. We all had a hot dog lunch together and then an ice cream sundae party. It was a lot of fun! Only two more days left of school... :(
This is Emma and her bud, Iris. She talks about her all the time.
