Yumm.. Kool-Aid!

We are being treated for thrush right now. Gentian Violet is very messy!
Cece is interacting a lot more, smiling and cooing. She laughs in her sleep even. She loves her Daddy!

Last weekend we took a trip the park. It was a nice sunny day, but that wind was freeezing! We had a picnic of Zaxby's and watched Emma play. Unfortunately, Cece spent her first time to the park bundled up in her stroller.

6 weeks

We have two healthy girls here! Mama went for her post-partum checkup and Cece had her 1 month check last week. Cece weighs 10 pounds 8 ounces (90%!!) and is 21.5 inches long (50%). She is smiling and cooing and even sleeping 6 hours at night. We are so blessed to have such a sweet girl. She still loves having her diaper changed (likes to air out and kick) and is even starting to enjoy her baths. Its amazing how fast they grow.

As promised, here is my thumb-sucker. She is starting to prefer the pacifier now.
This is what happens when I try and get a picture of Cece on Clint's chest. Emma is such a ham.

First Playdate

On Friday I took the girls over to Emma's best friend, Catie's, house (us mommies are friends too). Cece already has an instant friend in Caroline who is 5 months. We watched the older girls play outside in the nice January weather while we hung out with the babies. Karen took these pictures of Cecelia. I am sure it was the first of many playdates for Cecelia in the upcoming years.

Sleeping through the night

Last night Cecelia slept from 1130 to 530 this morning! She woke up to eat and then went back to sleep until 8. It was so nice. :) I hope she isn't up all night tonight because of it.

One month

Cece was 4 weeks old yesterday. I don't know if I have just forgotten what it's like to have a newborn, but Cece is very high needs right now. If she is not eating or sleeping she is crying. However, she does give us sweet little smiles that melt my heart when she wakes up. Nana definitely got her a rocking baby, too bad she doesn't get the chance much.

Last weekend we had a visit from some very good friends of ours, Carrie and Jonathan. Emma loves them to death and they spoil her rotten. I can't count how many pictures they colored or how many games they played with Emma. Unfortunately they didn't get to see Cece much because like I said earlier, she was either sleeping, eating or crying. Here is a picture of them from the hospital.

We are so excited for them because it looks like they might be adopting in June. I am saying many prayers for them. Our babies will be able to grow up together. :)

Everyone keeps asking what new things Cece is doing, whether she has a personality yet. Clint and I think she is going to introverted like us, unlike her big sister! She is able to hold her head and shoulders up and look around while we are holding her and she might turn into a thumbsucker. The other day after fussing in the car for awhile she finally found her thumb and it stayed in there (lucky for me) while she slept. I took a picture that I will post later. I hope she finds it again because she hates the pacifier.

I know I am rambling, I think it is the sleep deprivation. Last night she was up from 2 something until 6. She woke up to take Emma to school at 8 and didn't fall back asleep until we went to pick Emma up at 3. I am exhausted as is she.

Firsts

Today was Cecelia's first shopping trip with mommy. We went to the Mall of Georgia and from this experience, it looks like she might not be as good of a shopping buddy as Emma. As soon as we got there she was crying so I fed her and then had to sling her the rest of the trip (and be walking). We are both exhausted after two stores, we didn't even make it to Target.

Getting back to normal

It has been 3 weeks since Cecelia entered the world and I figured it was time to start a website for her and the rest of the family. Emma is a big helper and loves being a big sister. It wasn't as hard as I expected going from one kid to two, but I was relieved when Emma went back to school today so I can sleep with the baby. Now it's time to start cleaning the house and put up Christmas decor. This holiday went by so fast for us! I will post pictures soon.

Cece is over 9 pounds now and a good baby. She has even given us a couple of genuine smiles.
