Gobble Gobble!

Nana and Papa were nice enough to bring us a whole freaking turkey yesterday! So we were still able to have a dinner and have plenty for leftover sandwiches. Well, Cecelia is a turkey monster!! She gobbled it up, didn't care so much for the stuffing though. Here are my turkeys...

I also thought I would join all the many people out there that give Thanks this time of year. Here is my Gratitude list...

Things I am Thankful for:

Sweet-smelling cuddly babies
our health
that God has blessed me twice with two wonderful daughters
a husband that helps more than I like to admit and who loves me unconditionally
A family that wants to be a part of our lives and adores my girls
That we have been blessed financially where we are able to have all the necessities in life
My friends, old and new (the old ones keep me me and the 'new' ones keep me sane)
Thankyouverymuch

Giving Thanks

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a very busy one. First we went to my great Aunt Dot's, like we do every year that I am not working. The girls had fun, Emma playing outside and Cece walking around inside with us. And of course, lots of yummy food! Then we went over to my Nanny's house (papa's mom) to visit and have dessert. However, I was the only one to eat dessert. It looked too good, I couldn't resist... so much for my diet! Cecelia had a blast there, there were lots more kids her size that she got down on the floor and played with.
A week ago we all came down with a stomach virus. It started with Cecelia and she was the last to get well. It was so pitiful and it broke my heart watching her get sick. We thought we were in the clear by Thanksgiving, only to find out that Abby came down with it today. Cece hadn't had a yucky diaper since Wednesday, so in theory she shouldn't have been contagious. At least it seems to be only a 24 hour bug in everyone but Cece's case. We hope Abby feels better soon.
And since Abby got sick, we had to cancel our "football party". Every year we have gotten together with my family to watch the Dawgs beat Tech and have another homemade Thanksgiving dinner. Our Tech fan had other plans anyway, so it wouldn't have been as fun without Len around to tease. ;) I hope I didn't just jinx us! Emma was pretty sad that we had to cancel, so we are going to have to have a Bowl party instead. GOOOO DAWGS!

big girl

My baby is walking! Cece is walking longer and longer distances now. I believe her record is 5 steps. I am sad she is getting so big. She is enjoying herself because she refuses to be held now. If we are out and about, she wants down and she wants down NOW! But she is obviously not quite ready to go walk around public places yet.
She has also learned to blow kisses and plays peek-a-boo with me. She is saying mama, dada, babas(can you guess what that is?), and MA! for Emma. Oh she loves her big sister. When she sees that big yellow school bus coming up the street she is shaking with excitement and waving like crazy.
And on a more personal note, I am quite ready to wean. I brought her to a meeting at work this morning and she threw a temper tantrum until I pulled them out to quiet her down. It is quite embarrassing to have a baby whining and sticking hands and head down your shirt. Emma never did crazy stuff like that. I can already tell it is going to be a hard process with Cecelia. For such a happy baby, she sure is difficult!

Any ideas on how to get a baby to look at the camera?

I can't even get her to stay in focus. She is adorable, nonetheless. :) It has been quite a year.

11 months old

Last night, one day shy of 11 months, Cecelia took her first steps! I was holding her hands in the kitchen and I let go and stepped back and she walked 3 steps all on her own right back to me! She has also learned to point, so that little finger it out all the time now. :)

I tried to get some cute pictures of her today, but she would not look at me for anything. And if she did, she went right for my camera. I will post a couple out-takes from the day. More will come later...

Going to the chapel...or down to the river

The bride sitting on her throne ..lol
Matron and Maid of honor

Rehearsal dinner

My best friend of many many years got married yesterday at the Vecoma at the Yellow River. She actually got engaged the night Cecelia was born, so I didn't find out until a day later when she came to visit us in the hospital. I was her matron of honor and the wedding was beautiful. I was the only one to walk down the aisle without an escort so I was thrilled that I didn't fall. High heels (which I never wear anyway) and soft ground do not do well together. That and I kept stepping on my dress! The bride looked beautiful. As the the minister was proclaiming them man and wife, a wind blew over us all and sent leaves falling down, it was quite amazing. It was a lovely day and I am very happy for the new couple. I didn't bring my Canon, because I didn't want to lug it around and I didn't want to step on the photographer's toes. However, he wasn't even in there while we were getting ready so I regret not having my good camera.

The girls spent the Friday night and most of Saturday at Nana and Papa's house. Friday night was rough for Cecelia without me to get her to sleep. We have introduced cow's milk and she doesn't seem to like it yet. She is growing up way too fast, her birthday is about a month away. She has perfected the drop game. She has learned to say Uh-oh (I taught it to her in Walmart last week) and now she will say it BEFORE she drops something. Such a stinker. She is also standing on her her own for a long period. But she is still learning the whole balance thing because as soon as she steps she goes down on her butt.

My little gremlins..

Happy Halloween!

Emma received her first Kindergarten award. She got the PRO award, People Respecting Others, meaning she got all 3s during her 9 weeks. As you can see, she was very excited! They dressed up as characters in a book for Drug Week. She had to make a sign about why her character doesn't do drugs. Her's read (she came up with it all on her own) "Cinderella- Dance with a Prince, Not Drugs! " :) She still doesn't understand what drugs are no matter how we describe it to her. She does know to not accept things from other people.
The girls had so much fun Trick or Treating! Nana and Abby came over for pizza and to help. We went out with our neighbor and her little girl. We had two faeries and a bumble bee. :) Cece spent most of the time in her wagon, but did make up to a few doors. She Loved her candy.. chewing on the wrappers. And Tonya, our neighbor, gave her a Halloween board book that she enjoyed also. We went out early around 6 and it was still broad daylight. We stayed out an hour and then brought the girls home because it was getting chilly. Nana didn't have one person at the door the whole time we were gone! But our door bell wouldn't stop ringing after we got home. Cece had her first sucker, more by accident. We were letting her play in her candy and she really liked the sucker. I then realized she had opened half of it, so I took the wrapper off so she wouldn't choke.
