It's official, summer is upon us! We went and picked strawberries a couple weekends ago and stocked up on freeze pops. We spent the day today at my friend Karen's house. I wish I had taken the camera, but I probably wouldn't have posted the pictures anyway. The girls played outside All Day Long. It started out on the swing set. Then they dug in the dirt. The red Georgia clay dirt. They were so dirty we started the sprinkler. Then it turned into red mud. We had 4 little girls running around in panties and another (cece) running around with her diaper sagging so bad her butt cheeks were showing. Then we threw them in the *dirty* baby pool. They had a blast!! And poor Karen was stuck bathing them all while I tended to a screaming Quinn. It's time to pull out the sunscreen because Emma's face got a little sun-kissed!

Milestones
One of Quinn's first big milestones happened today. Not only can she smile, laugh, put things in her mouth, she can ROLL OVER! While at nana's house today laying on the floor, she rolled all the way over on her belly. Her poor arm was stuck underneath her and she pretty quickly rolled back on her back but we were all witness to it. She didn't get nearly as upset as Cece did when she was first learning. I have lost my sweet newborn but I do love my ticklish rolley polley.

The Plan

Wow, what a crazy week. Clint went out of town on Sunday and Abby came to stay. I wish I could clone her, she was a big help with the girls. The house is totally quiet right now with the girls in bed and the littlest asleep in my lap. I am currently debating on putting her in her bassinet instead of her swing and going to sleep in my actual bed. It has been at least a month since she has started the night in her bed. We started putting her down in the swing for the reflux and now that it has improved a bit, I still don't want to put her to bed because I like her near us. As soon as we get a crib wedge it will be time for her big girl crib in her own little room. *sniff* She is growing way too fast, I can't believe I will never have a little being snoring next to me again. The brightest part of my day is hearing her stir and sit up to look at her and when she opens her eyes she sees me and smiles the prettiest smile in the world. There is nothing better!
We went to see the GI specialist on Monday. We were the first and only patients, it was nice. After finding out she weighs 14 pounds 8 ounces, and was 24 inches long, we talked to the doctor. He gave my poor girl a thorough rectal exam and did a stool test. She was positive for blood in the stool and he says that usually indicates an allergy. Since she has improved since I cut dairy out we are going to continue with that and retest her in a month. He said it could take 6 weeks to get out of her system. If it is still there in a month I have to eliminate 6 other foods that are high allergy. I honestly don't know what I will have left to eat. It will be pretty much a raw diet for me. Soy, nuts, wheat and others I can't even remember on the list. So, no more peanut butter on my english muffin. And apparently there is dairy (whey) in EVERYTHING. It is so hard now to eat. Everyone is like, oh so good it's nothing serious, such a blessing you are breastfeeding, but it is hard. I am an emotional eater and food is a big deal to me. (obviously) I do truly hope it's a blessing and I can stick to this strict diet and it will improve BOTH our health. But I digress...
We were told to give her Maalox for the reflux pain and got a prescription for some drops that will help her intestines. The doctor said that colic is common in babies of moms with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I was diagnosed with that in college, but it never seemed to affect my other girls. I have had a flare-up recently though with the stress of Quinn and worrying about my friend Karen. The last time it really bothered me was when we moved back to Georgia. (who would have thought having strangers go through and pack my stuff would bother me so much?!)
But he said she is growing and developing just fine so no need to do any intrusive testing. He was very impressed with her thigh rolls. :) It is a relief to have some tentative answers and a concrete plan in action.

Seriously
Sometimes I wonder what I did to piss God off. I know that sounds awful, but WHY must I have an obstinate two year old AND a colicky baby on top of it? I was just hit at and then a tantrum was thrown just for wiping Oreo off of Cece's face. And Quinn is beautiful but wow she is exhausting.
Ok, I am done venting. I think I am just getting overwhelmed thinking about Clint leaving me alone with them for 4 days. Oh, and Quinn has an 830 am doctor's appointment on Monday. Which is over an hour away, depending on traffic. Pray for us please...
It figures, as soon as I finish typing this, Cece goes and sits down with her two "doggy tails" and peacefully puts a puzzle together. Thank you Lord, for I am blessed. Seriously.

Yellow River Game Ranch
Last weekend we went with Emma's girl scout troop to the Yellow River Game Ranch. They really enjoyed it!
Check out this smile!
And there might be hope for Cece's curls after all. I have been afraid to cut her hair because I didn't want to lose her curls like what happened to Emma. Well, I was forced to trim one yesterday due to a gum incident. This curl is what she woke up with this morning. :)

Quick Update
Well, not much to report. Q's ped is going to send us to a GI doctor. It was decided last week, but the nurse at the ped office was sick and then somehow Quinn's insurance got mixed up AGAIN. So we are having to wait another 24 hours to get pre-approval just to make a dang appointment. And it can take months for some specialists, I hope it is not the case with this group. They have like 12 doctors and 6 campuses. They are tied with CHOA and I have heard good things about them.
Luckily, Quinn has had a great few days. :) I have cut dairy out of my diet for a week and half and Quinn has greatly improved. Man, I have never wanted a frosty so bad.... But it is is worth when I don't have to see my baby girl in pain.
Emma lost a top tooth a few weeks ago. She is getting so big! Her last week of school is next week and then Summer is here!
