Guess what we did today?

Today was one of those days. One of those baby won't stop screaming, toddler won't stop getting into stuff and then screaming, thus waking up the screaming baby I just got asleep. I was literally about to lose my mind. So I decided we needed a little change of scenery. Of course, I hadn't had time to brush my teeth, much less shower, so I threw on a bra and work out clothes and let the naked toddler dress herself. Out we went with greasy hair and furry teeth (myself anyway, but the kids were looking a bit rough too). After a picnic under our tree we attempted to blow bubbles. They weren't working very well so I had an epiphany. What girl doesn't like her toes done?! So miss Quinn got her first pedicure and Cece loved it as well. She wasn't quite as dainty though, check out the dirt to go along with the pretty pale pink piggies.

My grumpy gus.

Little miss thang found a dandelion tucked between her toes. It was pretty cute watching her.

Time for bubbles!

And then my little alarm went off.

Definitely the best hour of my week. Now it is time to sleep...

Doctor's orders

Didn't like her first taste of squash.
Cece didn't like it either. Here she is spitting into her shirt after begging for a bite.
Smiling at Big Sis.

Big girls watching Tinkerbell

I finally was able to take Quinn to see her doctor last week. Of course Dr. Hogan couldn't find anything wrong with Quinn. We discussed different things to try to help with Quinn's discomfort/screaming. She isn't sure if it's reflux, colic, or the vaccinations. It is alarming enough to delay at least her DTaP shot (apparently Pertusis is the one that can cause these effects). I have a lot of research to do in the next few weeks regarding immunizations. She also suggested some things to try to help with her reflux. We are now dividing her pill into two so she gets it twice a day. And as you can see, she suggested SOLIDS! My baby girl, one week shy of 3 months, tried some organic squash. Dr. said cereal has a higher rate of allergy and to go for vegetables. Quinn was not impressed.
She was her usually fussy self this weekend, but today was a good day. I do love good days.

catching up

Sweet Relief... An evening bath seems to be one of the only thing that calms Quinn when she gets in her crying spells. Isn't she Pitiful?

Afternoon Snack
The weekend before last they planted a Spring Garden

So it's been kinda hard to blog with a fussy baby and a laid-up husband. It's also hard to type one-handed while nursing so details will come later. It has been quite a few days. I have mentioned one of my closest friends, Karen, on here before. Emma and her daughter Catie are best friends also. Well, their husband and daddy, our friend, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday. Leaving behind three little girls and another on the way . Please keep them all in your prayers.

Today is definitely a ...

two cup of coffee day. We can't forget the Zoloft either. My poor baby Quinn has been having a rough time. I don't know if it's reflux or colic or her shots but the poor girl has not had a peaceful day in almost a week. I don't like to even talk about it, because she is still the sweetest baby out there, but she cries.all.the.time. And it's not just crying, it's screaming, red-faced, back-arching, eyes bulging, crying. A call to the doctor said it's probably just her belly. We have started her on a new reflux med and I am praying it works. Because I got about three hours of sleep last night.

And when I am feeling a bit discouraged, I love to read this blog, check it out. (if I could only have that outlook on life!) http://www.kellehampton.com/

I have so much more to post about our happenings lately, so stay tuned...

Edited to add... Clint asked me tonight if I really wanted to announce to the world my current pharmaceuticals of choice. I guess I did get a little personal in my sleep-deprived stupor, but I am not ashamed. My children deserve the best mother I can be.
