It's been awhile

With all this dreary weather we have been having, I haven't had much to post. No new pictures anyway. I had a great birthday weekend though. I turned 31 on Friday. I got a new phone and the fam watched the girls while Clint and I went out to dinner and a movie. Then on Saturday they all came up to my house for a shrimp boil. YUM!! I want another one already. I got some new flip flops, candle, some money (even though my mom forgot a dollar- or she thought I was turning 30 again. Hey, that's not such a bad idea!) and a Target gift card for our brand new Target that opened 5 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE! woohoo

Clint was sneaky in giving me my phone. Thursday night I went out with my friend, Sam, whose birthday is the day before mine. Well while I was getting ready I couldn't find my phone anywhere! (clint had hidden it) That night when I got back around midnight, I heard my phone ring in my purse. I went to answer and I picked it up and was so confused. I thought at first my friend had left her phone in my purse. Then I asked "who's phone is this?!" Clint said it's YOURS! So, yay. I have a new pink razr. :) I am almost up to date with the times now. ;)

Cecelia's doctor left a message today that all her labs are back and normal, including the growth hormone ones. So we need to work on increasing her caloric intake. I hate having a picky eater. She won't even drink Carnation instant breakfast. :( But she is starting to talk more. She says Papa, nana for food (mostly vanilla wafers and bananas), doggie- but it sounds like "duh duh"

Emma has her awards ceremony at 0800 in the morning! Cecelia has been sleeping in since the time change so it is going to be painful getting us all up and ready in the morning. Emma got yet another wonderful report card. She is ready for 1st grade..
Her opening day for softball is this saturday. I will be sure to take many pictures at the awards and her game of both my girls, so I have something to post for you!

I am still searching for Emma an Easter dress, so I haven't even thought twice about having their portraits taken. I really need to get a move on. I think I was in this predicament last year. It seems that I am a little too detail oriented when it comes to this stuff. I am trying to coordinate a 4 year old dress handed down from Emma to Cece....

This dress to be exact. (I guess I should try it on Cece to make sure it fits!)

cruisin'

Some days I just love being a mom. Others, well, not so much. ;) Today was a good day.
We met Clint at the YMCA and then after we worked out he was sweet and treated us to Mexican (aka Margarita) on the deck, which is what I had been hinting at. Ok, not really hinting, more like begging. It was such a beautiful day...
On the way home I had the windows down because Emma wanted "breezy hair". Cecelia loves the wind too, she squeals and it is the cutest sound. Well, we were cruising down the road and I was jamming to some hip hop song. Then I hear Emma in the back. She doesn't know the words, so she is belting 'Wheels on the Bus'. Oh my gosh, it was the cutest thing. After the song ended, a Zac Brown song came on and we ALL started singing along.
Today was a good day.

Oh, and she got all 3s this 9 weeks in behavior. Good job Emma!

Good News

The good news is, so far all of Cecelia's tests have come back normal. Her bone growth is right on, thyroid is normal, a bit anemic, but everything looks good. Still awaiting the growth hormone results.

Failure to Thrive

Well, I am now seriously worried about my baby girl. Cecelia has not gained any weight in the last 3 months. She weighed in today at 20 pounds and 4 ounces. She has dropped to the 10th percentile in weight, 25th in height, and 95% in head circ. She started out at 90% in weight at birth and stayed 75 in height and weight through most of her infanthood. For those out there that don't understand percentiles, it plots her on a growth chart. Since she is only 10%, that means 90% of the children her age are bigger than her. Since her head growth has continued to grow, while everything else seems to have stalled the doctor is now concerned also.
Cecelia had a rough appointment today. She got two vaccinations (MMR and chicken pox) and they drew 3 large vials of blood. They are checking thyroid levels and endocrine (insulin) values. She also has an order to get an Xray of her hand for growth plate measurements, to check her bone age. The doctor said she falls into the second category of Failure to Thrive. Where it could be nutrition, endocrine disorders, genetics (which is what I am hoping) or even dwarfism. When I questioned the doctor about the last she said it is in the back of her mind, BUT signs usually show up around 3-4 months, not 12-15. She said she looks healthy but she has a very long torso. I am hoping that she is just built like her Daddy. Poor kid.
She is healthy and active and adorable per her doctor. I will update as soon as I know anything more.

15 months old!

Cecelia is now 15 month old. These pictures were taken last week at softball practice and a day at the park. She goes for her well-check tomorrow. I will update on her after the appointment!

Springtime in Georgia

So today was a beautiful day. We had the windows open and just couldn't stay inside. This morning Cece was being extremely clingy so I said Bye bye? and she went right to the door. It was finally warm enough to try on her new dress (a Janie and Jack brand that I stalked Ebay for). So we spent the morning with her wandering around the yard while I followed. She wanted a playmate, so she walked all the way across the court to our neighbors, but they weren't home. So once Emma got home we went back out of course.

Only in Georgia will we get 5 inches of snow and the next week it hits 80.

catching snowflakes

A warning... be prepared for a very shrill annoying mommy voice in the video. Next time someone hears me sound like that, please smack me. I left the sound on so you could hear Emma's giggles. Also at the end, you can see Cece trying to eat the snowflakes and one lands on her nose. :)

Snow day in Georgia!

See the snowman?

If you open up the picture, you can see Cece. She stood there for a good 10 minutes before we went and picked her up..

Our winter wonderland of a backyard.

Cece didn't want to get up after she was bundled up.

Emma loved the snow and Cece well, she didn't know quite what to think. Cecelia and I are both fighting two very nasty colds...
