Christmas Day

Nanny's house
Christmas Eve
Every year we get together with my family around Christmas. The Sunday before Christmas is at my Nanny's house (my dad's mom) and then Christmas Eve is at my cousin's Cheri's. Growing up it was at my Grandmother's tiny house until she passed away when I was a teenager. Some of my best memories are driving home late at night looking out the car window for Santa's sleigh, and then getting in my bed with the red candles glowing in my window.
I am happy that I get to continue these traditions with my girls, and hopefully add some new ones.
(Of course we get together with Nana and Papa and Abby and Len on Christmas Day.) This year was a rough for us though with sickness and lack of sleep. Quinn wasn't as excited about her first Christmas as the other girls were this year, she cried most of the time.

Cecelia's Christmas Program and Preschool Party

Cecelia goes to preschool two days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On her last day before Christmas break we had some really bad winter weather. It delayed Emma's school two hours and canceled Cece's class. :( (I had stayed up until 1 am the night before finishing up baking for the teachers and making reindeer food for her class) I was super bummed but we were contacted and said that they could still have their party on Friday and sing along with the Christmas program. Needless to say, it was packed and hot and I dealt with a squirmy baby while Cece stood up there and and half sang while another little girl stood Directly in front of her. She sure looked cute though! It was so sweet to hear her sing her Christmas songs. And then at the party they had lots of treats and even Quinn got a book in the book exchange! (who also really enjoyed picking up and eating all the goodies that fell off of Cece's plate.) Can you believe Cece actually asked for two pony tails that day?!! She normally won't even let me brush her hair. I think she knew it was a special day. :)
Afterward we went to have lunch at Chick Fil A with a friend I hadn't seen in a couple years. The place was packed and after eating, I looked up in the play area to see a naked butt shaking back and forth. Wouldn't you know it was my child. We literally cleared out the place. (after further investigating she was copying older girls who were lifting up their dresses, well she had on pants... so you see how a toddler's mind works)
