It was a wonderful day

Happy First Birthday Quinn Grace.

Sweet baby Cale Ellyson

Emma got Honor Roll again!
Yay for Cake!

On her actual birthday we went out for mexican and had homemade cake.

Well, it happened. My baby is one year old. She isn't walking yet, so I can still call her my baby (and I probably always will). The party yesterday was a success I think. We ran out of plates and my camera battery died halfway through but everything else went smoothly. It was an owl and bird theme. The cake was delicious and Quinn loves chicken nuggets apparently. Quinn's smash cake tasted even better than the big cake! It was really special having most of the family there and a few close friends. We were busting at the seams though, we filled that room up! I am happy so many people love my baby girl. She was spoiled rotten.

Ok, who knew?

Apparently some people like to shower with their birds? LOL

I found some interesting things while googling for birthday stuff. (bird party/shower images)

We are busy bees around here!

It's starting to feel real

So I have been in denial for quite awhile that my baby girl is turning one. I honestly don't want it to happen. If children were guaranteed to stay babies forever I would be the next Michelle Duggar, no joke. I loooove babies, even if I don't get much sleep and my body is not my own.
The (indoor) pavilion is reserved and decorations ordered. I have spent hours and hours online looking at places and party inspiration blogs. Thank goodness for my mom getting us the venue. Here is a sneak peak of the theme...

Snow, snow and more snow!

Getting ready for Snowcopolis.

2011 is off to an interesting start! It snowed Christmas night (which it hasn't done in like 100 years) and then the weekend after the girls went back to school the Snow Storm of 2011 hit! It is our second day of being snowed in and I don't see them going to school tomorrow either. There is a good 6 inches on the ground with a 1/2 inch sheet of ice on top. The girls are having a blast though. So much work is involved in getting them dressed and ready, but it is worth it to see them sled down the driveway with grins on their faces. The pictures from Christmas came out so much better because the sun was out. This week is the typical gray winter sky.
In the first set of pictures Emma was inside because she was recovering from a stomach virus. She actually got to play in the snow this week with strep throat! We took her to an Urgent Care center and she chose taking a shot over the 10 day course of oral antibiotics. The doctor told her it would only hurt a little bit and she could go play in the snow. She is growing up. :( I am ready for everyone to be well. Quinn was also diagnosed last week with her first ear infection.
